Prabha and the Modayas

Cacophonic fits of laughter came from the jungles of Vanni where Prabha and Pottu with a few of their lieutenants are celebrating the bomb attack on the holiest of shrines of the Sinhalayas. They are highly amused that not only did they do catastrophic damage to the temple but its 'fall out' split the mad Sinhalayas and the Buddhist Sasana asunder into two blocks, one getting at the throat of the other.

In their madness one group burnt the effigy of Ranil on rubber tyres and the other, the effigy of Anuruddha with tar barrels.

"Machan, pakka fun, no? Let's drink a toast!"

Pottu raised his glass clicking it with Prabha's.

" Hey boss,We are doing the same thing which the ancient Cholians, Pandyans, the  Portuguese, Dutch and the English did to them since Vijaya landed in this Blessed Duwipa. It is so easy to divide them because they hate each other by nature."

Bemused, Prabaha laughed.

"'The funny thing Thamby, they have not taken any notice of me who caused the damage. I thought they would burn a thousand effigies of me in every town, but not a single Modaya thought of doing that because they were blinded fighting each other  for policital mileage."

The 50^th Independence anniversary of Sri Lanka, marking the end of British rule, is over. All the celebrations were fantastic.

As I see it the British did a lot of good work for Sri Lanka. That good work is still felt to this present day. But as many of you are aware there are many serious problems facing Sri Lanka. The ongoing civil war in Sri Lanka has meant that many innocent Sri Lankan's living there have had to face up to bomb after bomb exploding, many have even lost their lives. Many of these bombs have been the responsibility of Tamil Terrorists. These terrorists are regarded as the worst kind of terrorists in the world.

Everyone knows that Sri Lanka is a tiny country. The cowardly terrorism in Sri Lanka is the worst kind in the world. One man described as an, Asian Terror, is responsible for most of the killings, which have included Rajiv Gandhi. This man is constantly on the move with his rebel supporters. The same gang who use powerful explosives to make suicide bombs etc. This man should not have been born to this world. This monster is extremely hard to catch. The places where the terrorists make bombs are just hard to trace.

The greatest heroes, The Sri Lankan Army, are however, able to reach some of the terrorists's bases and limit their operations.
In my opinion The Sri Lankan Army is doing a great job, like what King Dutugemunu did in his time, So I can imagine and cannot express in words what kind of celebrations all of us will be looking forward to when the fighting is over.

So my dear friends, no matter where we all live, all of us have to support our motherland in order for it to be peaceful place to live. Sri Lanka was a paradise when my family and I left in 1970. Although we have lived almost 28 years in New Zealand, our feelings for Sri Lanka will always be strong.
